秋日定格
I still remember quite clear now what misery happened that day, when it was
那一日发生的悲剧，我始终铭记于心，
The last day the two of them would both be “alive”, literally or figuratively.
那是二人最后“活着”的期限，不管字面意义还是比喻。
As if my memory spanning a hundred years and more,
似乎我那跨越了一个世纪的漫长记忆，
Keeps transparent like newly-made glass on that point.
在那一点上澄澈如新熔的琉璃。
The time when the costumed Zero appeared before Lelouch,
当身着Zero装束的人与鲁路修仅有咫尺距离，
There was a breathtaking pause and suddenly the floor was glistening red,
令人窒息的片刻过后，地面溅上了触目惊心的红色印记，
The bloody hand which had been clutching the ugly wound,
染满鲜血的手掌，从胸前深深的伤口上移去，
Raised in slow motion to gently touch the side of Zero's mask.
动作缓慢地，温柔地抚上Zero的面具。
No one saw a tear drop, because the helmet was designed for
没有人看到眼泪落下，因为面具的意义就在于
Hiding everything including regret, sorrow and love.
掩藏起一切，包括悔恨、哀痛，还有爱意。
Stem taken away, the weak hand slipped from the helmet, leaving a bloody trail in its wake;
力气被抽干，虚弱的手从面具上滑下，留下一道悬针血痕；
Sword pulled out, the limp body slid down painting a long streak of dark crimson blood.
剑刃被拔出，身体踉跄几步，甩出长长一抹暗红色的血迹。
What did I see then - People young and old cheered from the top of their lungs,
我亲眼所见——无论老少，呐喊欢呼，歇斯底里，
For the Hero who had a minute ago killed the abominable tyrannous demon King.
讴歌他们的英雄，几分钟前结束了人人得以诛之的魔鬼暴君的性命。
In someone's view, there'll be nothing left in this world to abhor;
在一些人眼里，这个世界从此再没有什么好畏惧；
While in others', there'll be nothing left in this world to expect.
而对另一些人而言，这世界已经没什么值得期许。
Just an empty Aries Imperial Villa, full of empty space,
就像空荡荡的白羊行宫，塞满了空荡荡的一切，
Like the empty look I always see from the Zero's mask, under which
就像我在Zero的面具上，看到的那份空荡荡的黯然。
The one who was left alone never thought of breaking the one remaining chain,
而面具下，那个被孤独地留在世上的人，从未想过挣脱这条仅剩的锁链，
Being a shadow of a past shadow, as if it might have kept him by the other's side.
变成了一个追随着逝去的倒影的影子，就好像这可以让他一直在那人身畔。
Even a thought of joining the one whom angels would no way return to him,
甚至想要追随那人而去的念头，即便天使不愿意将那人归还
Shall be killed for the everlasting recall of his solemn promise in acceptance.

Ever since that day, Lelouch vi Britannia has been assassinated;
自那天起，鲁路修vi 布列塔尼亚溘然长眠；
Ever since that day, Kururugi Suzakuhas honestly been dead.
自那天起，枢木朱雀徒具形骸。
Ever since that day, the two of bestfriends, archenemies and,
自那天起，两位最要好的挚友、最糟糕的敌人，以及或许
Star-crossed lovers perhaps, have both ceased to be.
最不幸的爱人啊，均已不复存在。
On that September remembered, all the birds flew away in the autumn sky.
就在那个定格的秋日里，天空中所有的鸟儿都向远方飞去。
On that September remembered, all the glittering stars were fading away.
就在那个定格的秋日里，夜空中所有的繁星都无声地消逝。
That would come to an end, I guess.
我想，这就是故事的结尾了。
Now, given that you've brought back by the powerful Code,
那么，既然你在Code的威力下死地后生，
And there's no way for you to get him out of your deepest.
并且，已经别无余地将那人在你的内心深种。

最后居然车夫了，真是对不起前面的严肃画风……主要是承诺了先给了刀子后面一定要补糖……（以及大鲸这破铜锣嗓子这渣录音设备居然役C.C，跪求C厨们饶命）
从结尾的暗示可以猜到，鲁路修从C.C那里听到了关于那一天、那件事、那个人的叙述，加上自己对朱雀难以舍弃的牵挂，应该能鼓起饶恕自己的勇气来，找到对方轻描淡写地说一句——
“八年了，朱雀，你还好吗？”
